A share's Reference Price today is RM2.40 and it is not a first day of listing. What is the highest price at which the ATS will accept a board-lot buy order?
Under Rule 8.13(1), board-lot orders priced above the Upper Limit Price are not accepted by the ATS. For securities with a Reference Price of RM1.00 or more, the Trading Manual (para 4.4) sets the Upper Limit Price at 30% above the Reference Price, rounded down to the nearest bid: 2.40 x 1.30 = RM3.12. RM2.59 applies the 8% Dynamic Price Limit, which governs matching during the main trading phase, not order acceptance. RM2.70 adds the flat 30 sen band that applies only to securities priced below RM1.00. RM12.00 uses the 400% upper band that applies only on the first day of listing or quotation. Candidates mix up the static limit (order acceptance, 30%) with the dynamic limit (matching, 8%), or apply the sen-based band to a share above RM1.
